Vigo is TAP’s newest destination

TAP strengthens its commitment to Spain with 16% more flights in 2016.

On 1 July, TAP will begin offering direct daily flights between Lisbon and Vigo. In addition to the new route, Vigo will still be served from Porto, with the current overland transport service between the Spanish city and Sá Carneiro airport continuing.

Vigo will become the ninth Spanish city served by TAP, joining Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Bilbao, Valencia, Oviedo and La Coruña. With the increase in supply planned for the other routes, TAP will provide a record 168 flights each week between Lisbon and the Spanish cities it serves, which represents a 16% growth in the number of flights on offer.

From 27 March, TAP will begin a new service, TAP Express (which will replace PGA – Portugália Airlines), which will have a new and more efficient fleet that is of a higher quality and with greater capacity – offering 47% more seats. With this new fleet, TAP will ensure further improvements in punctuality, since it was already one of the most punctual airlines in Europe in recent months.

Direct flights to Vigo offers connections to other nearby cities, including Pontevedra (29km), Santiago de Compostela (89km) and Ourense (100km). In 2015, TAP carried 1,030,821 passengers on its routes between Portugal and Spain, around 6,900 more than the previous year.
