Virgin Atlantic sets up new subsidiary to operate services to the Caribbean

Virgin Atlantic has established a new subsidiary to handle its longhaul Caribbean operations.

The new subsidiary, named Virgin Atlantic International, has been granted an air operator’s certificate by the UK Civil Aviation Authority and is expected to begin operations by the end of next month, using two of Virgin Atlantic’s Airbus A330-300s.

Virgin Atlantic International will wet-lease the aircraft from its parent company for flights from its London Gatwick base to Antigua, Bridgetown, Grenada, Havana, Montego Bay, St. Lucia and Tobago.
