Vistara adds Port Blair to its fast growing network

Vistara, India’s fastest growing full service carrier, announced the addition of Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, as its 18th destination, effective September 30, 2016.

Port Blair will be served daily from Kolkata and from New Delhi (same aircraft service via Kolkata). With this new flight, frequency between Delhi and Kolkata will also increase to three flights daily. Twice daily service to Kolkata from Delhi had commenced on June 10 this year, and has seen very high demand for Vistara’s product.

Commenting on the new flights, Mr. Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO, Vistara, said:

“Port Blair and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are increasingly becoming popular leisure destinations in India. The islands offer history, culture, water sports, and natural beauty including some of the best beaches in Asia.  Our new route offers direct daily service to Port Blair from Kolkata as well as a one-stop Delhi-Port Blair-Delhi service via Kolkata. With these new services we strive towards enhancing regional connectivity to a location where air connectivity is vital for the economy and growth as it is the only convenient means of travel for residents of the islands and travelers alike.”

In a short span of 17 months, Vistara has rapidly expanded its services with 487 weekly frequencies across 18 destinations in India. The destinations served are Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Goa, Guwahati, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, Srinagar, Jammu, Kochi, Chandigarh, Kolkata and now Port Blair.  Having already achieved the benchmark of flying more than two million customers, Vistara stands tall on its promise of delivering seamless travel experience to flyers with intuitive thoughtfulness.
