Viva Aerobus Announces New Flights to Cuba

Viva Aerobus, Mexico´s ultra-low-cost carrier, reaffirms its commitment to connectivity between Mexico and Cuba with a greater offer of charter flights in partnership with the travel agency Viñales Tours.

The airline will offer, initially, more than 200 flights covering the routes Mexico City – Havana, Mexico City – Varadero, Monterrey-Havana and Guadalajara – Havana.

The flights Mexico City – Varadero will start on April 13 offering one frequency per week on Saturdays. Mexico City – Havana will begin operation on April 17 with a flight every Wednesday.

Viva will also fly to Havana from Monterrey and Guadalajara starting operation this summer in order to meet the needs of passengers during this high demand season. These flights will begin on June 1st with a frequency every Saturday.

“We are very excited with these new contact bridges that will boost tourism in the island. Havana and Varadero are emblematic destinations where historical sites converge with a vast cultural richness and privileged beaches, ideal for relaxation and water sports. There is an offer for everyone”, said Xiomara Martinez, Tourism Counselor at the Embassy of Cuba in Mexico.

Viva Aerobus lands in Cuba with a service characterized by more than 12 years of experience; one of the youngest fleets in America, integrated by Airbus A320 aircraft that offer the highest standards in safety, comfort and efficiency; as well as a customer-focused service that has allowed the company to position themselves as the airline with the highest passenger growth in Mexico.

According to Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus:

“These new flights mean a new stage of bi-directional connectivity for both countries because thanks to Viva Aerobus, Mexico and Cuba will be closer than ever before”.

Viva Aerobus landed in Cuba, for the first time last January, with the Cancun – Camagüey route, being, in addition, the only airline that offers it.

“With the help of Viñales Tours, we will link Cuba with three of the main cities in Mexico, which are also some of our most important operation centers. Thus, for example, we can offer Cuban travelers more than 30 destinations from Monterrey when they arrive to the country, since we are the airline with most routes from that city”, said Zuazua.

With these new flights, the airline broadens its offer from its main bases in Mexico, while strengthening its presence in international destinations, thus increasing its potential as the first option to fly.
