WestJet Encore inaugurates service to Boston

With the departure of flight 3600, WestJet Encore today inaugurated new service between Toronto and Boston, the newest addition to WestJet’s growing network.

The new service will operate three times daily on WestJet Encore’s fleet of Canadian-made Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft.

“WestJet Encore is pleased to begin flying year-round between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Boston’s Logan International Airport,” said Ferio Pugliese, President, WestJet Encore. “Our flight to Boston marks our first trans-border route and represents another step in the growth and evolution of WestJet Encore. Our low fares, exceptionally caring service and flexible schedule make this connection attractive to both leisure and business travellers. In addition, Bostonians heading north will have the opportunity to connect into WestJet’s ever-expanding Canadian and European networks.”

“Massport welcomes WestJet to Logan Airport,” said Massport CEO Thomas P. Glynn. “WestJet joins Logan’s long list of international carriers, and this flight provides another way for our customers to travel to and from Canada.”

In less than three years, WestJet Encore has gone from two aircraft and ten daily departures to 28 aircraft and over 130 daily departures serving 33 cities including Boston. In June, WestJet Encore will also launch service to Nashville, Tennessee.
