Wizz Air adds Satu Mare as its newest Romanian destination

Wizz Air today announced Satu Mare as its newest Romanian destination, launching new service to London Luton. 

Satu Mare is becoming the tenth Wizz Air Romanian destination. Starting from 31 October service from Satu Mare will connect the northwest Romanian city with London Luton two times a week on Mondays and Fridays. Wizz Air’s Satu Mare route is becoming the first international connection from the airport.

Wizz Air first flight from Bucharest took off in 2007 and since then the airline has continuously grown its low-fare network in Romania – currently offering 120 routes to 18 countries from ten Romanian airports. Wizz Air Romanian operations not only provide affordable access at Wizz Air lowest fares between Romania and the rest of Europe, but also stimulate the local job market in aviation and tourism sectors.

The airline is continuously investing in its Romanian operations and is planning to grow its fleet in the country to 20 aircraft by the end of 2016, including 4 of the new 230-seat Airbus A321. Throughout 2016 Wizz Air has already announced and will start 28 new routes connecting Romania with the rest of Europe, including Wizz Air first internal route connecting Bucharest with Cluj-Napoca which starts a new era in domestic Romanian air travel. Over the past 12 months ending 31 August 2016 Wizz Air carried more than 5 million passengers to and from Romania.

With the new flights to and from Satu Mare, Wizz Air enhances its position of offering the greatest connectivity between Romania and the rest of Europe and promoting economic development throughout the country.
