Wizz Air resumes flights to Baku

Wizz Air announced that it will resume its Budapest-Baku service starting from 27 March 2016.

The route was first operated in 2013, but then the airline suspended the service between the capitals of Hungary and Azerbaijan after slightly more than one year of operations.

Following a new contract, the service will now be resumed with two weekly frequencies on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Speaking at a press conference in Baku today, József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air said:

“I am happy today to be reaching an agreement with partners in Azerbaijan. The service between Budapest and Baku is bringing opportunities to improve air traffic access between Europe and Azerbaijan.”
