Wizz Air starts operating Bucharest-Budapest flights

Wizz Air yesterday started operating flights on the Bucharest – Budapest route.

The maiden flight took off from Bucharest with 176 passengers on board. The new service is operated three times per week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Budapest, the capital of Hungary is gaining more and more popularity among tourists and business travelers. The city, divided into two parts: Buda and Pest by the river Danube boasts beautiful architecture and breathtaking scenery. Its rich cultural life guarantees attractions for every taste during any time of the year.

Wizz Air first flight from Bucharest took off in 2007 and since then the airline has continuously grown its low-fare network in Romania – currently offering 120 routes to 18 countries from ten Romanian airports.

Demonstrating Wizz Air dedication to its Romanian customers the airline is continuously investing in its Romanian operations and will grow its fleet in the country to 20 aircraft by the end of 2016, including 4 of the new 230-seat Airbus A321. Throughout 2016 Wizz Air has already announced and will start 28 new routes connecting Romania with the rest of Europe, including Wizz Air first internal route connecting Bucharest with Cluj-Napoca which starts a new era in domestic Romanian air travel. Over the past 12 months ending 31 August 2016 Wizz Air carried more than 5 million passengers to and from Romania.
