Binter starts operating an ATR 72 for TACV

Spanish regional airline Binter will operate one of its ATR 72-500 aircraft on behalf of national flag carrier of Cape Verde, TACV, as a result of the wet lease agreement recently signed by the two airlines.

The agreement came in place today with the commencement of flights and will last for the next three weeks.

The aircraft, an ATR 72-500 configured with 72 seats, that was recently flown from the Canary Islands to Cape Verde, is expected to operate domestic inter-island flights.

For this operation, Binter deployed a team of around twenty persons, including flight crews and maintenance staff.

TACV reported that this aircraft has been leased to cover for one of its own aircraft, as it undergoes scheduled maintenance.

Binter is due to operate and commercialize its own inter-islands flights in Cape Verde in the near future, as it is still awaiting for its daughter company Binter CV to receive its Air Operator Certificate.

Binter relation with Cape Verde goes back to September 2011, when it launched its first flight between the Canary Islands and Praia.
