David Checketts to Leave JetBlue’s Board of Directors

JetBlue Airways announced that David Checketts, a member of JetBlue’s Board of Directors since 2002, will be leaving the board effective May 17, 2018.

“Being a member of the JetBlue Board of Directors since the very beginning has certainly been an incredible and fulfilling role,” Checketts said. “We started the airline with a clear mission – to bring humanity back to air travel – and I’m proud of the incredible success JetBlue has become against all odds by bringing that mission to life. JetBlue has an amazing brand and a devoted following that is the envy of the industry and sets it up for future success in the travel space. As I move on to other opportunities, I look forward to following JetBlue’s continued success. I want to thank the current Board and the remarkable leadership team for what has been a remarkable journey.”

“From the very creation of JetBlue, Dave has provided his valuable insight and leadership which have resulted in the airline we are all so proud of today,” said Joel Peterson, chairman of JetBlue’s Board of Directors. “Over the past 16 years, Dave has become very much part of our JetBlue family and I wish him every success in his future endeavors.”
