InselAir receives certification to conduct repair work on US-aircraft

InselAir has received the official ‘Air Agency’ certificate from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).

This specifically means that InselAir is now an official ‘USA repair station’ and is allowed to perform maintenance work on US registered aircraft. The certificate was granted after an extensive audit/inspection by the FAA.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is the national aviation authority of the United States. As an agency of the United States Department of Transportation, it has authority to regulate and oversee all aspects of American civil aviation.

“There are many requirements to which an airline has to comply before receiving this certificate”, says Ivo Oduber, Chief Maintenance Officer of InselAir.

“InselAir already has the Curacao CCAA-certification, Aruban DCA-certification and the IOSA-certification (by IATA). Receiving the internationally recognized FAA-certification is our next step. It is a big compliment for our maintenance team who worked hard to achieve this milestone”, ends Oduber.

InselAir has been investing significantly in training, tooling and facility at the Maintenance Department in the past years. Primarily in order to maintain its own growing fleet of aircraft and now also to provide maintenance services for US-registered aircraft and US-based airlines. Over the years InselAir has created 225 jobs in the field of engineering, maintenance and specialized repair work on aircraft. InselAir expects to create extra jobs with this certificate as other airlines and aircraft owners in the region now have an official ‘FAA Repair station” close by, on Curacao.
