KLM expands routes to Spain, adds direct flights to Alicante

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will start direct scheduled service to Alicante this summer. Alicante is KLM’s sixth Spanish destination after Barcelona, Madrid and Bilbao, with direct flights from Amsterdam to Valencia and Ibiza already planned. KLM will offer sixteen flights to Spain each day.

All KLM flights to Spain offer customers from other points of origin in Europe easy same-day transfer connections through Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, one of Europe’s most convenient transfer airports.

“By expanding its European network, KLM ncreases its share in the Dutch domestic market,” says Harm Kreulen, Senior Vice President Benelux Air France-KLM “As the largest airline at Schiphol, we will now offer our Dutch customers 78 destinations throughout Europe.”

With the addition of Alicante, KLM is now flying to nine new destinations this summer including Dresden, Inverness, Southampton, Genoa, Valencia, Ibiza, and now Alicante. KLM has also added intercontinental destinations Salt Lake City, USA, and Astana, Kazakhstan, to the network.

Alicante is located in the south of the Valencian Community on the Costa Blanca, close to a variety of popular tourist destinations such as Benidorm.

The new Amsterdam-Alicante service will operate daily using a Boeing 737 starting 4 July 2016.
