Silver Airways announced a new daily nonstop service between Orlando International Airport and Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport, located at Eglin Air Force Base, starting from May 16, 2019.
In addition, Silver is soon introducing new discounted fares for active-duty military on all flights.
“The 600-plus Silver Airways team members are proud to serve the hardworking men and women of our armed forces, as well as business and leisure travelers with our safe, reliable and customer-friendly service between Northwest and Central Florida,” said Silver Airways CEO Steve Rossum.
“We are ecstatic to launch this partnership with Silver Airways and provide our local community with the highly-demanded inner state route to Central Florida,” said Okaloosa County Airports Director Tracy Stage. “Local business travelers will now have the opportunity to fly nonstop to Orlando for business and return the same day and numerous options for leisure travel.”
“On behalf of the Tourist Development Council, we are very excited about the new daily, nonstop flight from Destin Fort-Walton Beach airport to Orlando,” said Jennifer Adams, Director of the Emerald Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau. “A large number of visitors who live in Orlando come to our destination, particularly between September through May. We are very excited to now offer them the option to fly directly to our beautiful beaches every day.”
In addition to nonstop service between Northwest Florida and the Panhandle to Central Florida, the new route also provides convenient connections to Silver’s network throughout Florida and The Bahamas, as well as a variety of destinations throughout the U.S. through Silver’s codeshare and interline ticketing partners, including United, American and Delta who currently operate at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.
Silver provides more routes within Florida and between Florida and The Bahamas than any other airline, and continues to expand its already extensive Florida/Bahamas network.
The airline recently started daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Daytona Beach International Airport and daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Pensacola International Airport.
