Transavia names Erik-Jan Gelink as Head of Commercial and Operations

Transavia’s management team will be complete with the appointment of a new Head of Commercial and Head of Operational.

Erik-Jan Gelink will assume the position of Head of Commercial on 15 September. Petra de Ruiter will assume the position of Head of Operations on 1 October.

“The strengthening of the team brings us a step further in achieving our ambition to be the most accessible, customer-focused and affordable airline in Europe. Apart from growth, service and digital service provision, we are focusing on reducing costs and optimising our operational processes,” says Mattijs ten Brink, General Manager of Transavia.

Erik-Jan Gelink will succeed Roy Scheerder who left Transavia in August. Gelink comes from Capgemini Consulting where he worked as Vice President Telecom, Media & Entertainment since 2015. He has more than 20 years of experience in the area of digital transformation, branding and online marketing. This makes him highly qualified to lead the commercial team. Erik-Jan: “I am looking forward to working on Transavia’s goals. I am convinced that my fresh look on situations, combined with the company’s knowledge and talent, will lead to good results.”

Petra de Ruiter has built up ample operational experience in her current role as Head of Cabin Service at Transavia. She brings much commercial knowledge from her previous jobs at KLM. The combination of experience at two major airlines will enable her in her capacity as Head of Operations to find the right balance between maximising operational performance with embedding customer focus throughout the flight operations. Petra: “I am unbelievably happy to work with colleagues to further build on Transavia’s goal of delivering memorable travel experiences to our passengers.”
