Wizz Air to Connect Santander and Warsaw

Wizz Air today announced a new route from Santander to the capital of Poland, Warsaw.

The new service will commence on 31 March and operate with two weekly flights, on Mondays and Fridays.

The airline believes that the new route will stimulate the local job market in aviation and tourism sectors as consumers can now travel between Cantabria and the Polish capital on very low fares.

Wizz Air’s newest service will be operated from Warsaw’s main airport, Chopin Airport, with one of the airline’s new state-of-the-art Airbus A321ceo aircraft.

Santander is the 12th Spanish airport in the Wizz Air network. In 2015, Wizz Air carried more than 1,2 million passengers on its low-fare routes to and from Spain.

By adding Santander to its growing route network, Wizz Air now connects 130 destinations across 38 countries providing millions of passengers with reliable air traffic operations, very low fares and a friendly, consumer oriented service.

Gabor Vasarhelyi, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air said:

”We are delighted to announce operations from Santander Airport. Our low fares now connect Warsaw with Santander and we hope that Cantabria will benefit from the inflow of tourists from Poland which could stimulate job creation in tourism and hospitality sectors. On the other hand we are also confident that Spanish consumers will appreciate visiting Warsaw, a dynamic Eastern European capital that is known as the city of palaces, royal gardens and grand parks, all within easy reach of the conveniently located Chopin Airport”.
