Cathay Pacific Airways and LATAM Airlines Brasil have entered into a codeshare agreement, offering passengers additional connections when travelling between Asia and South America through their gateways in Europe and the United States.

Under the new agreement, Cathay Pacific’s “CX” code will be placed on all flights operated by LATAM Airlines Brasil between London and Paris to Sao Paulo and all flights between New York to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

At the same time, LATAM Airlines Brasil will place its “JJ’ flight code on all flights operated by Cathay Pacific between New York and Hong Kong.

Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Ivan Chu said:

“Our new codeshare agreement with LATAM significantly broadens the choices and connectivity between Asia and Brazil for our customers, expanding trade and tourism between two continents. We are pleased to be able to grow our relationship with our oneworld partner, which is one of South America’s largest and most respected airlines.”

LATAM Airlines Brasil Chief Executive Officer Claudia Sender said:

“We are pleased to go even further with this partnership, which strengthens our oneworld alliance and complements the existing codeshare between Cathay and LATAM for flights in Chile and Peru. The agreement in Brazil will enable us to strengthen connectivity and network options in Asia for all our passengers.”
